Our Archaeology and Heritage Studies program delves into faculty research specialties covering the New World and Ancient Mediterranean archaeology. This curriculum examines North American cultures during both pre-European contact and post-contact eras, while also emphasizing ancient civilizations of Greece, Rome, and the Near East.
Students will receive instruction in contemporary archaeological field methods and analytical approaches, framed within the broader scope of heritage conservation. The coursework blends theoretical foundations with hands-on implementation, including work in our archaeological labs where material culture is analyzed. A key program feature is its experiential learning component, which frequently leads to professional opportunities in heritage preservation.
