The MPTPhD dual-degree program spans five years, enabling students to fulfill all requirements for both the PhD and MPT in Physical Therapy through the School of Physical Therapy. The first two years involve full-time PhD coursework, followed by two years of intensive MPT studies. Students receive their MPT degree after the fourth year, then focus on completing their PhD requirements during the fifth year. As part of the research component, candidates must collaborate with a supervisor from one of nine specialized areas to conduct physical therapy-related research. Prospective students should secure research supervision before applying. Additional requirements include developing an innovative thesis contributing new knowledge to the field and successfully passing comprehensive exams.
