Our faculty features distinguished, globally recognized experts specializing in Social Inequality, Aging & Health, and Population Studies. Their research spans diverse fields including youth identity studies, criminology, and labor dynamics. The department proudly hosts the Centre for Population, Aging and Health and contributes to interdisciplinary programs in Migration & Ethnic Relations as well as Transitional Justice & Post-Conflict Reconstruction. Additionally, scholars have access to Western's Research Data Centre and one of Canada's premier academic libraries.

The department provides dedicated resources including a graduate computer lab, offices, classrooms, research areas, and a student lounge - all conveniently located on the Social Science Centre's fifth floor, fostering collaboration between students and faculty.
