Western's Microbiology and Immunology Graduate Program provides intensive research-focused training for both Master's and PhD students. Our program features state-of-the-art facilities and an inspiring academic atmosphere, supported by renowned faculty leading cutting-edge research initiatives. The Department of Microbiology and Immunology focuses on two primary scientific disciplines: 1) The molecular and cellular study of microorganisms, and 2) The molecular and cellular examination of immune system functions. This research encompasses work with bacteria, viruses, parasites, cancer cells, and immune cells, with particular attention to molecular biology, biochemistry, and disease mechanisms.
