At Western, Spanish studies encompass various programs showcasing the vibrant cultural legacy of the Hispanic world. These range from language courses with community service learning opportunities to studies in literature, linguistics, arts, music, and digital humanities. Each program builds upon the foundation of Spanish 1030: Spanish for Beginners. Students can choose from five structured pathways: Honors Specialization in Spanish Language and Hispanic Cultures, Specialization in Spanish Language and Hispanic Cultures, Major, Minor, and Certificate programs.
Enhance your Spanish fluency while complementing another major. The certificate program, available to all undergraduates, bolsters applications for students pursuing careers or advanced studies in Spanish-related fields.
