For those seeking a program combining studio instruction and ensemble performance, consider applying to the Bachelor of Music degree.
All first-year Bachelor of Music students take foundational courses in Music Theory, Music History, and Music Skills (covering Sight-singing, Ear-training, and Keyboard Harmony). The curriculum also includes a half-course in either music composition, teaching & learning, or popular music & culture, along with one music/non-music elective and another elective outside the Don Wright Faculty of Music. Students receive weekly one-hour private lessons, masterclasses, and ensemble participation.
Bachelor of Music (Honours) students typically choose their specialization near the end of first year after evaluating their skills and interests. Alternatively, students may opt for a general Bachelor of Music track without declaring a concentration.
Core subjects (Music Theory, Music History, Music Skills) continue through second year, while third and fourth years focus intensively on the chosen specialization in all program options.
