This discipline aims to foster deeper insights into essential questions about human existence and our universe, encompassing topics like the fabric of reality, the essence of knowledge, truth, rational thought, ethical values, moral duties, and theological concepts. Beyond its intrinsic intellectual appeal, philosophical training provides valuable preparation for advanced studies in fields such as journalism, public administration, legal practice, commerce, pedagogy, or healthcare. Western University's philosophy department additionally hosts two prestigious institutions: the globally recognized Rotman Institute of Philosophy and the Centre for Digital Philosophy.
