Western's Spanish program offers diverse pathways reflecting the vibrant cultural legacy of the Hispanic world, ranging from language courses with community service learning opportunities to studies in literature, linguistics, arts, music, and digital humanities. All programs begin with Spanish 1030: Spanish for Beginners, leading to five specialized tracks: Honors Specialization in Spanish Language and Hispanic Cultures, Specialization in Spanish Language and Hispanic Cultures, Major, Minor, and Certificate options.
