Vancouver Island University's Bachelor of Hospitality Management equips students with comprehensive skills for the dynamic tourism and hospitality sector through either a two-year diploma or four-year degree option.
This hands-on program fosters valuable industry relationships while building expertise in hospitality marketing, accounting, HR, management, and other key areas. Graduates emerge prepared for careers spanning hotel operations, tourism initiatives, and marketing roles.
Students can pursue the full four-year bachelor's degree or opt to receive the Hospitality Management diploma after two years before continuing their studies.
The curriculum emphasizes global perspectives, immersing students in culturally diverse settings that enhance their problem-solving abilities in international contexts. Through simulated business scenarios and cooperative internships, the program blends theoretical knowledge with practical application.
VIU hospitality diploma holders (and graduates from other Canadian institutions) may directly enter the bachelor program's third year. Culinary and Baking/Pastry Arts diploma graduates can join after completing a bridging semester. Third-year admissions have limited availability.
