The University of Winnipeg's Education program combines academic theory with hands-on classroom experience to equip future teachers for professional success. Education students explore diverse subjects including history, philosophy, biology, sociology, and psychology while also studying curriculum design and teaching methods. What sets this program apart are two distinctive features: its emphasis on urban inner-city education alongside standard teacher certification, and early practical experience working directly with educators and students in real classrooms.
Through the Integrated BEdBA, BSc, or BPHE pathways, students can pursue dual degrees simultaneously. This option enables those committed to teaching early in their academic journey to start Education coursework within their initial two university years. The five-year Integrated program requires 150 credit hours, typically beginning in a student's first year, though the university accommodates transfers from other bachelor's degree programs as well.
