The MA Program provides students with a unique chance to explore varied academic pursuits within an energetic, nurturing environment focused on tackling social justice matters across multiple settings.
This program connects two primary academic perspectives in communication, media, and culture research – political economy and critical cultural studies.
It aims to foster innovative and thought-provoking analyses of daily communication landscapes; support investigations into the establishment, development, and change of rights and communication methods through policy, culture, and/or tradition; and cultivate approaches and tactics for social justice efforts.
Media permeate our surroundings, shaping our thoughts, worldviews, and daily routines.
Our department provides an extensive selection of media and communication classes that develop both practical abilities and theoretical knowledge. Interested in examining today's media landscape and its societal impacts? Want to master scriptwriting or documentary production? These represent just some of the engaging educational possibilities within CMF.
CMF stands among Canada's rare programs merging analytical studies with hands-on digital media creation. Students enhance their writing, analytical reasoning, visual, technical, narrative, and career-ready competencies. Our instructors specialize in communication theory, media analysis, and cinematic arts.
