Home to one of Canada's most expansive structural engineering laboratories
The facility spans approximately 700 square meters
Features a 600 m2 strong floor area designed for tension and compression gravity loading
Two reinforced walls with high-capacity (2000 kN) MTS actuators offering 30-inch strokes, positioned perpendicularly for lateral load applications
Each reinforced wall measures 11 meters in height and 5.7 meters in length
The lab boasts a 14-meter ceiling clearance
Equipment includes a 20-ton overhead crane
A 5-ton forklift for material handling
Dual access points accommodating large transport vehicles and flatbed trucks
Exterior storage space covering 100 square meters
Heavy-duty loading frame for large-scale structural tests (bridge decks, beams, walls, etc.)
Mid-sized loading frame capable of 4000 kN compression, 3000 kN tension, and 1000 kN lateral forces
Compact loading frame for medium-sized structural testing
Specialized MTS fatigue testing actuators and various capacity loading jacks
