In modern society, nearly all occupations utilize computers for data management and analytical tasks. Pursuing Computer Science provides a strong base for diverse career paths across business sectors, scientific research, and creative fields. The study of Computer Science extends far beyond acquiring technical competencies—it involves comprehending and addressing the complex issues in our increasingly digital society.
This specialized curriculum equips you with essential technical abilities for developing, designing, and managing software systems. You'll gain expertise in applying computer science principles, project coordination techniques, engineering concepts, domain-specific applications, user interface development, digital content management, and related disciplines. The University of Windsor boasts one of the highest graduate employment rates, with all alumni securing positions in their desired fields within two years after completing their studies. Note: This program does not lead to professional engineering certification.
MIN. AVG.* 70% (75% for co-op) ONTARIO COURSE REQUIREMENTS ENG4U, and MHF4U. MCV4U is strongly recommended. A minimum 70% average of math courses is also required. Co-op programs: 75% + 70% average in all attempted Math courses, excluding MDM4U.
English Language Proficiency Requirement: Minimum score of 6.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS); Minimum score of 60 on the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE); minimum overall score of 176 on the Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) or the Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE); minimum score of 85 on the English Proficiency Test administered by the English Language Institute of the University of Michigan (MELAB); minimum score of 220 with a T.W.E. 4.5 on the Computer-based Test, 83 with an essay score of 20 on the Internet-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL); minimum score of 60 on the Carleton University’s Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL).
Recommended application deadlines for UWindsor’s undergraduate programs are: May 1 for September admissions (Fall); Sept 1 for January admissions (Winter).
