The Department of Mathematics and Statistics provides outstanding undergraduate and graduate programs within a nurturing academic setting. Our faculty's research achievements and instructional expertise make us an ideal destination for your degree. At the undergraduate level, we offer Bachelor of Mathematics degrees in both mathematics and mathematics with statistics. Our joint programs include collaborations with Computer Science and the Odette School of Business, concurrent degrees with the Faculty of Education, and double major options with nearly any other university program. For those passionate about mathematics but not seeking a full degree, we provide Minor in Mathematics and Minor in Statistics options. Aspiring actuaries will find our program particularly valuable, as we've trained numerous successful professionals who frequently return to recruit future talent. Our graduate offerings include master's and PhD programs in mathematics and statistics, along with a professional Master's in Actuarial Science.

Faculty of science:

- A grade of at least 70% in each 12U math course taken (MHF4U, MCV4U, MDM4U (if taken)).
- An average of at least 75% across all 12U math courses taken.
- An average of at least 80% across 6 grade 12U courses.

English Language Proficiency Requirement: Minimum score of 6.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS); Minimum score of 60 on the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE); minimum overall score of 176 on the Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) or the Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE); minimum score of 85 on the English Proficiency Test administered by the English Language Institute of the University of Michigan (MELAB); minimum score of 220 with a T.W.E. 4.5 on the Computer-based Test, 83 with an essay score of 20 on the Internet-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL); minimum score of 60 on the Carleton University’s Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL).
