Management sciences is an expansive, multidisciplinary field focused on solving challenges and improving decision-making within organizations. It blends analytical approaches with behavioral science to tackle society's most pressing issues. Students gain expertise in supply chain operations and optimization techniques while exploring emerging areas like human-computer interaction, sustainable energy solutions, and entrepreneurial innovation. With three primary specialization tracks, both learners and educators can tailor their academic journey to align with personal interests and career aspirations. The department provides a dedicated management engineering bachelor's program and a management sciences elective for students in other engineering disciplines. Following Waterloo's distinctive approach, all undergraduates participate in cooperative education, completing up to six 4-month work placements alternating with academic terms. This hands-on experience strengthens classroom knowledge, delivering a comprehensive, real-world education.
