The Master of Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology (MBET) is an innovative graduate program blending cross-disciplinary coursework with real-world venture development and commercialization. Within the MBET program, participants gain knowledge through both academic instruction and hands-on application. Students engage with Waterloo's entrepreneurial ecosystem through networking, practical projects, and collaborative learning alongside peers, enhancing their classroom education. The program fosters an immersive, experience-driven approach where students concentrate on transforming ideas into viable businesses. Participants will investigate launching new ventures within established companies through corporate innovation initiatives and work alongside emerging tech startups to refine business strategies. Available in two formats, MBET offers a one-year intensive full-time option or a three-year flexible part-time schedule, maintaining its core focus on merging academic rigor with practical entrepreneurial skills.

Qualification Requirements

Applicants who complete an honours degree at a Canadian institution require a minimum overall average of 75% (or equivalent) over 4 years or a minimum overall average of 75% (or equivalent) over the last 2 years for admission. All other applicants require a minimum overall average of 75% (or equivalent) over 4 years in the applicant's previous honours degree program for admission.
Normally have at least one year of prior work experience obtained either through cooperative work terms as part of an undergraduate academic program or through post-graduate work experience.
As part of the admissions process, an interview is required. Applicants who are unable to come to campus for a personal interview will be interviewed by telephone.
