Our Cognitive Psychology program offers students a dynamic, collaborative setting to explore the workings of the mind and behavior, fostering close partnerships between students and faculty. The curriculum focuses on cultivating advanced research capabilities to conduct exceptional independent studies. Typically, students enter through the MA program before progressing directly to the PhD level. Cognitive Psychology examines mental processes - how we obtain, retain, process, and share information. Grasping these cognitive mechanisms reveals fundamental insights into human identity and behavior while offering practical applications for everyday life.

This research-driven graduate program equips students with comprehensive knowledge of cognitive psychology and the expertise to conduct rigorous independent research. We provide the resources and experiences needed to advance scientific pursuits and achieve professional aspirations, whether in academic or corporate settings. Through our Applied Practicum course, students can gain hands-on industry experience relevant to cognitive psychology. We also promote interdisciplinary collaboration, maintaining strong ties with our Cognitive Neuroscience department's seven faculty members. This interdisciplinary approach creates a vibrant intellectual community for investigating the complexities of human cognition.
