The Three-year General – Visual Culture program offers a more streamlined alternative to the Four-year Honours track. This curriculum features a core sequence of four visual culture courses, starting with foundational classes that explore art and cinema through the lens of visual perception (how we interpret our visual world). Subsequent courses examine visual culture through multiple disciplinary perspectives and theoretical frameworks. Students complement these with at least 8 additional electives focusing on various facets of visual culture, selected from over 100 options across 20+ university departments. Designed as a genuinely cross-disciplinary program, it centers on visual studies. Within Fine Arts, you'll refine technical skills, build a unified portfolio, and acquire professional artistic competencies. Regardless of specialization, you'll benefit from close-knit learning environments and faculty mentorship.
