It reveals the boundless potential of language, and studying literature provides valuable linguistic and cultural understanding that benefits aspiring PR specialists, attorneys, executives, technical writers, or authors. Your literature studies will expose you to the complete range of English literary works. As Ezra Pound famously observed, "Literature remains eternally relevant," meaning whether you're examining Chaucer, Mary Shelley, or Tolkien, each text will offer fresh perspectives about yourself and society. This degree program delivers thorough grounding in English literature while enabling you to follow your specific literary fascinations. Literature represents one of three major options available. You'll get to investigate global literary traditions—including British, postcolonial, Canadian, and American works. The curriculum encompasses diverse genres, from Elizabethan theater to speculative fiction, from lyrical verse to illustrated storytelling.
