The department oversees two Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) programs: systems design engineering and biomedical engineering. Engineering students all take part in the cooperative education program, rotating between academic terms and professional work placements, gaining hands-on experience that enhances their classroom learning. Break down barriers. See the connections. Gain a broader perspective. The Systems Design program caters to those seeking both the depth of an engineering education and the freedom to investigate subjects beyond conventional engineering fields. You'll analyze all components of engineering challenges - from human factors to materials, tools, and software. You'll develop skills to evaluate entire systems and understand how modifications impact interconnected elements, employing diverse modeling, analysis, and design techniques. Our curriculum emphasizes project work, providing ample chances to tackle real-world issues. Additionally, you'll acquire two years of professional experience through our cooperative program. After graduation, numerous paths await: our alumni pursue careers in engineering consulting, project leadership, advanced studies, healthcare professions, entrepreneurial ventures, and beyond.
