The Graduate Department of Public Health Sciences within the Dalla Lana School of Public Health provides both full-time and part-time graduate degree options. Prospective students should ideally possess foundational knowledge in statistics and quantitative methods, with relevant work experience also being considered. The Master of Public Health (MPH) program caters to those pursuing professional or research-oriented careers across community, academic, government, or private settings. Meanwhile, the Master of Science (MSc) program focuses on research and academic pathways in Biostatistics.
Public Health Sciences (PHS) provides diverse opportunities for both newcomers to public health and experienced professionals seeking skill advancement. With over 800 graduate students currently enrolled, our doctoral and master's programs cover numerous specializations at one of the globe's top public health institutions.
The Occupational Hygiene (OH) specialization aligns with International Occupational Hygiene Association standards, preparing graduates for professional accreditation as Registered Occupational Hygienists through post-graduation examinations. The Environmental Public Health (EPH) track equips students with similar competencies as OH but applies them to outdoor environments rather than workplaces. This specialization prepares graduates for roles in government agencies or private firms, evaluating how environmental contaminants (chemical, physical, and biological) affect community health through exposure via air, water, soil, and food.
