Meanwhile, the Master of Science (MSc) focuses on research-oriented careers in Biostatistics.
Public Health Sciences (PHS) provides diverse opportunities for both new public health professionals and experienced practitioners seeking specialization. With over 800 graduate students enrolled, our doctoral and master's programs cover numerous disciplines within one of the globe's top public health institutions.
This program explores Indigenous health through multiple lenses and cultural perspectives. It emphasizes First Nations, Inuit, and Métis knowledge systems, teaching methods, and research approaches. The curriculum incorporates land-based education, traditional wisdom shared by Elders and Knowledge Keepers, and progresses to community involvement and allyship. Participants will develop comprehensive public health understanding with specialized focus on health challenges facing Indigenous communities in Canada. This non-thesis professional program equips graduates for diverse career paths in community work, government, policy development, research, industry, and academia. Designed for both Indigenous and non-Indigenous learners, it prepares professionals to address health priorities in First Nations, Inuit, and Métis populations.
