Forestry offers a specialized perspective for comprehending, shaping, and implementing sustainable resource management practices. Pursuing a Forest Conservation degree opens doors to careers that significantly influence the sustainability of ecological, social, and economic systems. The Master of Forest Conservation (MFC) program holds accreditation from the Canadian Forestry Accreditation Board. Graduates with an MFC degree qualify for positions requiring Registered Professional Forester (RPF) certification. For those seeking a cutting-edge, interdisciplinary course-based program featuring a guaranteed internship, the MFC program presents an excellent option. Full-time students typically finish the program within 16 months. Extended full-time students (EFT) have the flexibility to complete their studies over 28 months while maintaining the same tuition costs as regular full-time students, though they must pay full incidental fees for each year of enrollment.
An appropriate bachelor's degree from a recognized university with an average in each of the final two years of at least mid-B. The MFC program is intended for students with a strong undergraduate background in ecology, environmental sciences, forestry, natural sciences, biology, physical geography, geology, agricultural science, or relevant social sciences. Students from other disciplines will be considered by the Faculty.
