The Masters of Education in Developmental Psychology and Education program enables students to build a comprehensive understanding of developmental psychology and human growth, along with their practical applications for working with children in educational and various professional contexts. Tailored for thoughtful practitioners in developmental psychology education or related disciplines, the Master of Education (MEd) program focuses on real-world application rather than requiring a research thesis.
Participants complete core coursework in human development and research methods. They can also choose from diverse electives spanning cognitive, social, and emotional development; teaching and learning processes (covering language, literacy, and math); specialized education approaches; program assessment and mental health; advanced research techniques; as well as early childhood policies and programs, including childcare systems.
Admission to the MEd program normally requires an appropriate bachelor's degree with standing equivalent to a University of Toronto mid-B or better.
Applicants normally possess a teaching certificate and have at least one year of relevant professional experience.
