The Mediaeval Studies interdisciplinary program examines the history, cultural heritage, and linguistic traditions of the 5th to 15th centuries - an era often referred to as medieval times or the Middle Ages, commonly linked with Arthurian tales, mythical creatures, exquisitely decorated texts, monastic traditions, Norse and Celtic influences, and groundbreaking advances in science, theology, and philosophy. Participants can study Middle English and Latin, examine historical manuscripts, and conduct original research. The curriculum also prompts students to investigate how medieval concepts have influenced later periods across various artistic and cultural expressions.
