The Global Asia Studies (GAS) program offers interdisciplinary undergraduate degrees that allow students to deeply explore Asia within its evolving global and diasporic framework, both historically and contemporarily. The curriculum introduces students to innovative Humanities approaches and theoretical perspectives drawn from multiple academic fields. GAS connects scholarly research on Asia with Toronto's thriving Asian communities through engaging co-curricular and extracurricular activities that foster meaningful experiential learning with both social awareness and academic depth. The program covers diverse themes including gender studies, migration patterns, religious traditions, economic development, and nationalist movements across regions from mainland China to Tamil societies.
Both the Global Asia Studies Specialist Program and Major Program cater to students seeking comprehensive, cross-disciplinary understanding of Asia, equipping them with valuable knowledge for diverse professional paths.
