The Caribbean Studies program offers an interdisciplinary undergraduate curriculum exploring the region's history, society, politics, economic growth, literature, and philosophy. Our coursework examines diverse topics such as gender roles, religious practices, cultural expressions, ethnic identities, racial dynamics, developmental challenges, linguistic variations, colonial legacies, ecological concerns, and regional economic integration. This program fosters both broad theoretical analysis and specialized regional knowledge, enabling students to connect intellectual concepts with the Caribbean's unique historical, political, economic, geographic, cultural, and linguistic contexts. Through this dual approach blending interdisciplinary methods with regional expertise, learners develop the ability to examine complex issues from multiple perspectives while maintaining firm grounding in Caribbean realities and diaspora experiences. Engaging with Caribbean Studies challenges students to critically examine global structures, contemplate their personal position within these systems, and appreciate the profound intellectual contributions of the Caribbean region regardless of its geographical scale or contemporary political weight.
