The Centre for Medieval Studies delivers interdisciplinary academic programs focused on the medieval era, offering both Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. Participants are encouraged to transcend conventional academic boundaries, with particular emphasis on exploring overlooked intersections between traditional disciplines. The center equips students with fundamental research techniques and analytical tools necessary for interpreting medieval sources with scholarly insight and creativity. Prior to enrollment, all admitted students must enhance their Latin language skills, as Medieval Latin proficiency is mandatory for all degree programs. Latin competency assessments occur twice yearly: at the start of the Fall term and the conclusion of the Spring term. New students must complete the Level One Latin placement test during initial Fall registration. The doctoral program at the Centre for Medieval Studies maintains a demanding, cross-disciplinary approach to advanced study.
