The Bachelor of Information (BI) explores the relationship between information technologies and societal structures, equipping students with both theoretical frameworks and hands-on skills to navigate and influence our data-driven world. This interdisciplinary program combines design thinking, critical analysis, and practical application.
Program Learning Outcomes:
Evaluate the social, political, economic, and ethical implications of how information is produced, controlled, managed, and shared, particularly regarding ongoing and emerging ethical dilemmas
Examine intricate information systems within their broader political, economic, technological, and cultural frameworks
Question the fundamental theories behind data representation and computational processes
Evaluate, develop, and employ diverse methods for generating, processing, and analyzing data, while maintaining adaptability for future technological advancements
Apply design methodologies to investigate and address complex information challenges
Formulate ethical, culturally sensitive, and legally compliant solutions to persistent and emerging issues in information technology and practices
Effectively communicate specialized work to diverse audiences with varying levels of information literacy
Assess personal competencies and recognize opportunities for growth through collaboration or further education
Construct, justify, and implement analytical approaches to complex information systems within their socio-technical contexts
Identify persistent intellectual debates and societal conflicts in the information field
