The University of Saskatchewan's Music graduate programs offer students focused individual mentorship with accomplished scholars and performers specializing in piano, collaborative piano, vocal studies, strings, brass, and woodwind instruments. Our conducting curriculum emphasizes either choral or instrumental direction, tailored to each student's aspirations. While our musicology and theory concentrations primarily explore classical works from the 18th to 20th centuries, customized study plans can be arranged through consultation with our graduate committee. Details regarding the Master of Music in Music Education can be found here.
All programs conclude with a discipline-specific final project, performance recital, or written thesis. The graduate committee designs personalized course selections to enhance each student's primary field of study.
Competitive scholarship opportunities exist for outstanding candidates, awarded based on demonstrated excellence and future promise in their specialization. Teaching assistant positions are also available, granted according to documented instructional abilities.
