This research-focused program enables you to undertake original investigations using cutting-edge facilities, research centers, and laboratories. Our faculty specialize in these key research domains:
Biochemical engineering
Biotechnology research encompasses investigations into biodegradation, biofilms, bioreactor development, spore drying, gasohol refinement, VOC bioremediation, recombinant fermentation, along with metabolic engineering and functional genomics.
Corrosion
Current research combines predictive modeling with experimental analysis of corrosion across diverse industrial applications.
Fluid mechanics
Both experimental and theoretical fluid mechanics research concentrates on multiphase pipeline dynamics, rheology, and fluidization processes.
Reaction engineering
Chemical reaction engineering research explores biomass and waste conversion to syngas and bioproducts, biodiesel production, value-added product synthesis through alkylation/isomerization, heavy gas oil hydrotreatment, carbon-catalyzed mercaptan/H‚ÇÇS conversion, activated carbon production, carbon nanotube applications, and renewable energy development from biomass oils. Additional studies examine catalyst roles in reducing emissions from coal power plants.
Thermodynamics
Investigations focus on phase equilibrium analysis of critical industrial systems to enhance process design methodologies.
