This program is designed to provide students with fundamental mathematical understanding and abilities for analyzing and addressing challenges in various non-mathematical disciplines.
To explore the wide-ranging applications of mathematics, students may want to pursue a minor or double-honors in an Applied Mathematics-related field like Anatomy and Cell Biology, Astronomy, Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Geological Sciences, Economics, Engineering, Management, Physics, Physiology, or Psychology.

Prospective Honours students should meet with department advisors before selecting second-year courses. For the B.Sc. Honours degree's 120 credit unit requirement, a minimum of 66 must be senior-level credits. Admission to Honours requires completing at least 60 credit units with a minimum 70% Cumulative Weighted Average overall and in the Honours subject area.

Foundations of Mathematics 30 or Pre-Calculus 30

Students entering the Bachelor of Arts program, or who are undecided about which program they are interested in, are encouraged to take Foundations of Mathematics 30. Students interested in the Bachelor of Science program are encouraged to take Pre-Calculus 30.
