The Mathematics & Computer Science Combined Major is perfect for students passionate about computational theory or computer science. Many cutting-edge computing fields (including machine learning and computer graphics) require strong mathematical foundations. Choosing the BSc Honours path opens doors to graduate studies or research careers. The Mathematics and Statistics Department is a vibrant, multifaceted community. Their academic offerings include BSc, BSc Honours, MSc, and PhD degrees across various disciplines. Primary undergraduate options consist of: Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, and Applied Mathematics & Statistics. Students may also pursue a joint Computer Science and Mathematics program or a five-year dual degree (BScBEd) in Mathematics and Mathematics Education. Through internships, cooperative programs, and summer research positions, undergraduates can acquire valuable professional experience alongside their studies.
