Our Biology programs cover diverse fields including terrestrial and aquatic ecology, environmental concerns, wildlife biology, physiology of plants and animals, microbiology, and microbial diseases.
At the U of R, Biology students gain practical experience through hands-on learning in specialized labs, with opportunities to use cutting-edge equipment and technologies in faculty research facilities.
The Biology Department boasts a Tier-1 Canada Research Chair, multiple NSERC panel members, and editors for prominent Canadian and international scientific publications. Many of our biology faculty are acclaimed for their excellence in undergraduate teaching.
Beyond the core biology curriculum, students can specialize in one of two concentration areas:
Cellular and Molecular Biology Concentration
Ecology and Environmental Biology Concentration
Students must have completed High School (Secondary School) or partial post-secondary.

MELAB (Michigan English Language Assessment Battery): 85
