Economics examines how societies address the fundamental challenge of ensuring their citizens' economic welfare. Every community must determine which products and services to create (and in what quantities), select production methods, and decide how to allocate these resources after production. Economics focuses on the influence of rational, self-interested decision-makers. An economics education equips students for diverse career paths in both private and public organizations. Alumni have found roles as Research Officers and Analysts in government institutions, Investment Services Officers or Financial Analysts in banking, and have also excelled in legal studies.
