The Diploma program provides advanced Public Administration training for professionals. To earn a Diploma, students must complete ten (10) additional three-credit courses beyond the Certificate requirements, including six (6) mandatory courses and four (4) approved electives. Diploma candidates must also demonstrate completion of a four-month, full-time public service internship in an administrative setting. The University of Prince Edward Island's Faculty of Business delivers this interdisciplinary program, offering both Certificate and Diploma options in Public Administration. Designed primarily for current government employees at federal, provincial, and municipal levels seeking career advancement, the program also welcomes other qualified applicants. Course scheduling prioritizes working professionals' availability for both required and elective classes.

Qualification Requirements

Successful completion of Grade 12 examinations in a University Preparatory Program with an overall average of at least 70% (75% for Quebec Secondary V students) in the following subjects:

English,
Mathematics,
any two Social Studies, Languages or Sciences,
and one other academic course.

The language of instruction at the University of Prince Edward Island is English. All academically admissible applicants, regardless of their country of origin or citizenship status, are required to demonstrate proficiency in the English language prior to undertaking studies at the University of Prince Edward Island. Applicants without English proficiency test scores, or with scores below the minimum, may be admitted conditionally (NOT available to applicants seeking admission to Nursing, Radiography, Education or Doctor of Veterinary Medicine), and will be assessed by the EAP Coordinator upon arrival.
IELTS (Academic) - Overall score of 6.5 with no band below 6, TOEFL paper-based test - 550 with minimum TWE of 5.5, TOEFL internet-based test - 80 with minimum of 20 in each category.
