Political science explores the principles and application of governance, along with examining political structures and behaviors. At UPEI's Political Science Department, students can study across four key areas: Canadian Politics, Political Theory, Comparative Politics, and International Relations. The program allows students to pursue either a major or minor in Political Science. Successful completion of Grade 12 examinations in a University Preparatory Program with an overall average of at least 70% (75% for Quebec Secondary V students) in the following subjects:

The language of instruction at the University of Prince Edward Island is English. Applicants without English proficiency test scores, or with scores below the minimum, may be admitted conditionally (NOT available to applicants seeking admission to Nursing, Radiography, Education or Doctor of Veterinary Medicine), and will be assessed by the EAP Coordinator upon arrival.
