Political science explores the principles and application of governance, along with examining political structures and behaviors. At UPEI's Political Science Department, students can study four key areas: Canadian Politics, Political Theory, Comparative Politics, and International Relations. The program allows students to pursue either a major or minor in this discipline.

Opting for a political science major or minor at UPEI offers numerous advantages. The department features varied course options taught by knowledgeable, passionate professors who are actively involved in research. Its intimate, collaborative environment fosters strong connections between students, faculty, and senior peers. With small class sizes and advanced seminar courses, students gain exceptional opportunities to refine their research, writing, and public speaking abilities.
