The master's program aims to train registered nurses for advanced practice roles or further doctoral education. Program graduates gain the skills to take on leadership positions that enhance nursing care quality across diverse healthcare environments. This curriculum delivers thorough academic training grounded in theoretical knowledge and research to tackle health challenges faced by individuals, families, communities, and population groups.
The graduate diploma program focuses on preparing registered nurses for advanced practice as primary healthcare nurse practitioners (NPs). Alumni of this program are equipped to lead quality improvement initiatives as NPs in various primary care settings.
This integrated program offers comprehensive academic training combining theory, research, and clinical practice to manage health issues affecting individuals, families, and communities.
PHCNP Diploma courses are delivered through blended in-person and distance learning formats. Students receive clinical placements in Eastern Ontario (Ottawa and nearby areas), with responsibility for arranging their own transportation to these sites.
French-speaking students from minority communities in Canada's coastal regions and Territories receive special support through the Consortium national de formation en santé (CNFS). As a national organization, CNFS includes ten post-secondary institutions providing French-language health education across multiple disciplines.
