A comprehensive method for examining sports, physical activities, and health enables both students and faculty to exchange research insights and professional knowledge while advancing the wider discipline of human kinetics.
The Master's program focuses on three primary goals:
To enhance the collection of scientific evidence and data concerning sports, physical activity, and health, while promoting analytical reasoning and solution-oriented capabilities.To support the development of both quantitative and qualitative understanding within the biophysical sciences of sports, physical activity, and health. To equip human kinetics professionals with the skills needed to make significant contributions within Canadian communities.

The department is also involved in a joint initiative for Feminist and Gender Studies at the Master's level.

Qualification Requirements

To be eligible, candidates must:
Have an honours bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in human kinetics or a related field, with a minimum average of 70% (B).
Note: International candidates must check the admission equivalencies for the diploma they received in their country of origin.

Have a background in Feminist and Gender Studies, that is, a minimum of two undergraduate level courses or one graduate level course on women, gender, feminism or sexualities. Students who do not have an adequate background may be eligible to our Special Policy for Admissions.
Identify at least one professor who is willing to supervise your research and thesis.
We recommend that you contact potential thesis supervisors as soon as possible.
To register, you need to have been accepted by a thesis supervisor.
The supervisor's name is required at the time of application.
