The Master of Applied Science in Anatomical Sciences Education, provided by the Department of Innovation in Medical Education (DIME), is a 20-month, research-focused program centered on anatomical education and contemporary medical teaching methodologies. This program capitalizes on the department's distinctive strengths, including access to a state-of-the-art human anatomy lab—an essential facility for delivering this curriculum. DIME also brings the necessary expertise to instruct in this lab-intensive course and guide students through educational research initiatives. As the only program of its kind in Canada, it equips learners with clinically applicable anatomy knowledge, teaching proficiency, and research skills in their first year, followed by practical implementation in the second year. During year two, participants will teach anatomy in the Faculty's Medical Program while pursuing independent education research projects. Emphasizing student-centered approaches—particularly in anatomy labs—the program delivers an innovative, transformative learning experience aligned with modern educational standards. Additionally, it stands out as the first program to provide anatomy instruction and lab training in both French and English.
