Founded in 1981, the Ottawa-Carleton Chemistry Institute (OCCI) brings together the research capabilities of both the University of Ottawa and Carleton University. This collaborative institution provides graduate studies culminating in Master of Science (MSc) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees in Chemistry.
Research resources are jointly utilized across both university campuses. Enrolled students can benefit from faculty expertise, academic courses, and infrastructure at either institution, though they must register at their thesis advisor's primary university.
OCCI participates in interdisciplinary programs including the master's level science, society and policy initiative, as well as graduate programs in chemical and environmental toxicology at both master's and doctoral levels.
Hold a master’s degree in chemical engineering (with thesis or equivalent in terms of scholarly publications) with a minimum average of 75% (B+).
