The Bachelor of Science in Conservation Science and Practice offers students a choice between two specialized tracks:

Wildland Conservation and Recreation
Landscape Conservation and Management
The Wildland Conservation and Recreation track concentrates on areas where conservation objectives, including recreational and scenic values, take precedence over other land uses, while addressing their interactions with competing priorities. This program covers: conservation advocacy strategies; comprehensive management of legally protected areas; conservation area planning; and human interactions such as outdoor recreation, nature-based tourism, and their ecological consequences. Students gain practical skills for assessing, planning, overseeing, and maintaining conservation values within park systems and tourism industries.

The Landscape Conservation and Management track examines both natural and altered ecosystems at regional scales. This concentration emphasizes holistic landscapes that sustain diverse objectives, including biodiversity preservation, Indigenous rights and traditions, ecological services, and resource utilization. Curriculum focuses on human influences across various ecological dimensions, particularly landscape-scale processes. Graduates acquire expertise in contemporary techniques and analytical methods essential for coordinating multiple conservation priorities across different spatial and temporal contexts.
