Our graduate program enables students to participate in cutting-edge research and development while designing various mechanical systems. The mechanical engineering curriculum at UNB provides engaging and varied specialization choices such as: biomedical engineering, instrumentation and control, manufacturing engineering, materials science and processing, and mechatronics.

Learners can utilize multiple laboratory facilities, with departmental connections to numerous research centers including: the Nanocomposites and Mechanics (NCM) Laboratory (home to Canada's Cold Spray Research and Innovation Initiative), the Marine Additive Manufacturing Centre of Excellence (Canada's pioneer research facility employing 3D metal printing for certified marine component production), the Advanced Manufacturing Lab (specializing in high-performance machining and materials analysis), Robotics and Mechanisms Laboratory, Bioenergy and Bioproducts Research Lab, and the Institute of Biomedical Engineering

Applicants interested in research thesis must contact faculty prior to applying to secure research supervision Applicants should hold an undergraduate with a minimum GPA 3.0 Average 70 percent B or First or Upper Second Division Applicants are required to submit a completed application including three references and a one-page statement describing their research interests International Applicants whose first language is not English will be required to submit language scores Minimum TOEFL score of 550 and a TWE score of 40 computer based scores would be 213 and 40 or greater and Internet score of 94 writing and speaking minimum 25 IELTS minimum score of band 7 MELAB minimum score of 85 or CanTest minimum score of band 45
