Our graduate program enables students to participate in cutting-edge research and development while designing various mechanical systems. The mechanical engineering curriculum at UNB provides engaging and varied specialization choices such as: biomedical engineering, instrumentation and control, manufacturing engineering, materials science and processing, and mechatronics.
Learners can utilize multiple laboratory facilities, with departmental connections to numerous research centers including: the Nanocomposites and Mechanics (NCM) Laboratory (home to Canada's Cold Spray Research and Innovation Initiative), the Marine Additive Manufacturing Centre of Excellence (Canada's pioneer research facility employing 3D metal printing for certified marine component production), the Advanced Manufacturing Lab (specializing in high-performance machining and materials analysis), Robotics and Mechanisms Laboratory, Bioenergy and Bioproducts Research Lab, and the Institute of Biomedical Engineering
