The IDST doctoral program has expanded quickly, becoming UNB's most extensive PhD offering with more than 70 participants. Both the M IDST and PhD IDST initiatives benefit from the expertise of over 75 faculty members spanning UNB Fredericton and UNB Saint John, representing diverse academic fields. These programs are celebrated for their exceptional candidates, as well as their adaptable structure and variety.

Qualification Requirements

PhD applicants require a Masters degree with thesis, or equivalent research experience, and at least an A- average.

International student whose first language is not English must provide language test score results. If applicable, a TOEFL score of 100, TWE 5.5, or IELTS of 7. Must indicate ‘academic’ not ‘general’.

Application Deadline: February 15 for funding consideration, July 15 for fall intake; October 15 for winter intake
