The Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering (GGE) graduate program at UNB integrates geodesy with geomatics studies, providing students with comprehensive expertise in this discipline. Our curriculum takes an interdisciplinary, hands-on approach that connects these fields to other areas including geology, physics, civil engineering, oceanography, and legal studies.
As a leading global department, we give students opportunities to work with cutting-edge geodetic technology and collaborate with affiliated research centers. Over 500 international students have earned advanced degrees from GGE, pursuing careers as academics, researchers, and industry professionals at prestigious institutions worldwide. Our alumni apply their specialized knowledge in diverse sectors including environmental assessment, land/ocean resource administration, and property dealings.
Program Length: 12-24 Months (MEng), 24 Months (MScE), 36-48 Months (PhD)
Admission Periods: Fall (MEng accepts Fall applicants only), Winter, Summer
PhD applicants should hold a Master’s degree in geodesy and/or geomatics, or have related experience.
International applicants whose first language is not English must submit language scores that meet or exceed international English language testing system (IELTS) band 7 and/or a TOEFL score of 92.
