Software engineering extends far beyond mere coding. It encompasses the entire process of designing, creating, testing, deploying, and updating software solutions that form the backbone of modern computing. Essentially, our digital infrastructure relies heavily on this discipline.
At UNB's Software Engineering program, students master the creation and upkeep of dependable, secure, cost-effective software solutions that meet client needs. The curriculum equips learners with expertise to handle complex, high-value software projects, particularly those with critical safety implications.
This interdisciplinary program is offered jointly by the Faculty of Computer Science and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, leading to a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree.
UNB boasts Atlantic Canada's sole CEAB-accredited Software Engineering program, one of just 14 nationwide. The program also holds accreditation from CIPS. With intimate class sizes, UNB fosters exceptional engagement between students, faculty, and classmates.
Practical learning opportunities include:
Hands-on lab sessions
Collaborative design initiatives
Optional Co-op work terms
