The enigmas of number theory and the geometry of curved spaces: these fields hold significant relevance for data security, computer engineering, and cosmological studies. For centuries, through both theoretical and practical research, mathematicians have quietly driven progress in science and technology, with mathematical education now being increasingly valued by employers and policymakers worldwide.
The Mathematics program can be pursued as a major, double major, or honors specialization within a four-year Bachelor of Science degree. Additional options include Minor degrees, featuring a Minor in Financial Mathematics and a Minor in Computational Studies.
The statistics major is structured to equip students for careers in industry or government while also laying the foundation for advanced academic pursuits. Statistics students are encouraged to develop specialized knowledge in applied fields such as physical sciences, forestry, or computer science.
