The enigmas of number theory and the shapes of curved spaces: these fields play crucial roles in data encryption, computing systems, and our understanding of the universe. For centuries, through both theoretical exploration and practical implementation, mathematicians have quietly driven scientific and technological progress, with mathematical education now being highly valued by employers and policymakers globally.

The Mathematics program offers multiple pathways, including major, double major, or honors tracks within a four-year Bachelor of Science degree. Additional options include specialized Minors like Financial Mathematics and Computational Studies. In various professional rankings, mathematics-heavy occupations consistently dominate the top spots, making a Mathematics degree exceptional career preparation. For example, CareerCast evaluates 200 professions annually based on work conditions, earnings, growth potential, and stress levels, with Mathematician, Actuary, Statistician, Data Scientist, Information Security Analyst, and Computer Systems Analyst frequently appearing among the top ten.

Two Specializations
Mathematics:
This major equips students for careers across industries, government sectors, or educational institutions. Mathematics majors are encouraged to develop complementary skills in applied fields like physical sciences, computer science, engineering, or business.

Statistics:
The statistics major prepares graduates for industrial or governmental roles while also laying the foundation for advanced academic study. Statistics students should consider gaining practical knowledge in application areas such as physical sciences, environmental studies, or computer science.
