Modern biology addresses countless inquiries given the broad spectrum of disciplines it encompasses, from microscopic molecules and cellular structures to entire organisms like microbes, plants, and animals, extending to larger environmental systems, ecosystems, and the biosphere. Students can pursue the Biology program as a four-year Bachelor of Science degree with major or honors options, or as a minor within various interdisciplinary programs.

Nationally and globally, our Biology Department enjoys an excellent reputation. Students benefit from our distinguished research achievements and highly regarded graduate and undergraduate offerings. Faculty research contributions have secured substantial funding, with several professors honored as Canada Research Chairs for their national recognition.
